This beautiful table we believe was made by Merklen Brothers, NY, a well known maker of quality furniture in the late 1800's. It has a shaped table top and matching, but smaller lower shelf. The brass brackets that hold the lower shelf are the heads of mythical creatures, often seen used on furniture pieces from this period. Makes a lovely server in a dining room or smaller size library table in a den or study. 
 
In excellent condition with some blemishes and wear as would be expected for it's age.
